Well Duels have become a very popular mode in brawl stars pretty quickly. But even after its popularity it has not become a permanent mode yet. It keeps on going and coming back for a week and then gone again.
Why Duels Becoming Permanent in Brawl Stars?
Currently the most common modes are brawl ball and showdown(solo) but after launch of Duels it became really popular fast, this is because it is 1V1 mode with three rounds and three different brawlers. Due to this player are liking this mode more than solo showdown (at least 20-30% prefer duels over solo showdown).
When Will Duels Become Permanent in Brawl Stars?
It was about to become permanent in January maybe due to some issues it did not, but it is now 100% confirmed that it will become permanent in February. Once it becomes permanent it will be available for 24/7 with different map rotations.

Controlling your character is very simple: you only need to use the left virtual joystick to move your hero while attacking your enemies using the joystick on the right. If you tap it only once, your character will attack the nearest enemy.
In Brawl Stars, you can find various game modes. The rewards mode, your objective is to finish the game with more stars than the other team. In other game modes, you have to fight for a series of crystals found in the middle of the map or compete directly against other players in an epic deathmatch.
